Sexual Exploitation & Abuse
Scottlands Consulting has deep, specialist experience investigating allegations of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment across UN agencies, international NGOs, religious organisations and development programmes. Every investigation is conducted with a survivor-centred, trauma-informed approach — not as a framework bolted on at the interview stage, but woven through planning, evidence gathering, witness engagement and reporting from beginning to end. We work sensitively with complainants who may be living with chronic trauma, disability, or complex mental health needs, and we understand the particular challenges that historic matters present. Our investigators hold PEACE interviewing qualifications to Level 3 and bring operational experience from New Zealand Police and international field deployments across the Pacific and Asia.

Investigation Management & Advice
Not every organisation has the internal capacity or expertise to manage a complex investigation on its own. Scottlands offers advisory support at any stage — from helping organisations scope and plan an investigation, to reviewing methodology, advising on interviewing approach, or providing quality assurance on draft reports. We have led and supported investigations in complex multi-stakeholder environments, including those involving multiple implementing partners, differing policies and codes of conduct, and significant cultural considerations. Drawing on experience across the Pacific and Asia, we help clients move investigations forward in a way that is ethical, culturally aware and procedurally sound.
Training & Capacity Development
Scottlands delivers practical, field-informed investigation training for investigators, safeguarding staff and organisational focal points. Our training is grounded in real experience — not theory alone — and covers investigation planning, evidence gathering, PEACE interviewing, survivor-centred methodology and trauma-informed practice. Training can be tailored to your organisation's context, whether that is a single workshop, a multi-day programme, or capacity development for an in-house investigation team.
